Explore wellness in 9 different areas of your life
August is here and just so happens to be National Wellness Month! What better time than now to look at wellness and what that means for you. I mean in a soul nourishing, personal DEEPness kind of way, the way only YOU can offer yourself.
Let’s play a little word association (which is one of my favorite games by the way). When you hear wellness, what comes to mind? What images, ideas, thoughts show up? How do you feel in your body? Is there... Excitement? Resistance? Longing? A sense of Calm?
Wellness takes many shapes and forms. Over the years, I have identified 9 areas where you can explore wellness. Yep…. NINE! Some may be familiar and some might not.
Within each area, there are countless ways to engage in wellness. An activity or practice may even cross over a few domains. For example, crafting may touch on leisure (since it is a hobby), personal growth (learning a new technique), and psychological (sense of accomplishment completing a project). Wellness may also involve NOT doing. That’s right, saying “no” or “not right now” can also improve wellness. Take the crafting example, if you overspend at your local craft store, how does that impact emotional (guilt) or relationship (financial strain) domains? And is it worth it overall?
For the month of August, I invite you to turn your attention to personal wellness. Here are a few ways you could start!
Pick one Wellness domain and list as many Wellness practices as possible in 5 minutes
List 3 activities or items for each of the 9 Wellness domains
Pick 3 Wellness rituals and write how to experience it through all 5 senses
Pick one Wellness activity and create a version for every season and weather forecast
**Be sure to include a few new activities to try along with what has (or is currently) nourishing for you**
Here are a few resources I am loving that I hope get the wellness vibes flowing for you too!
